Hybrid Bikes
The most popular bikes for adults
Hybrid bikes are a cross between mountain bikes and road bikes — for the rider who wants to do a little of everything. Hybrids generally have semi-treaded tires which are narrower than mountain bike tires, flat or riser bars, and higher gearing than mountain bikes. From recreational riders to commuters to the cycling enthusiast, this type of bike prevails.
There are several types of hybrids:
The recreational hybrid bike sits the rider in an upright position and comes with a more comfortable saddle. For riders who like to ride less than an hour this might be the good choice.
The fitness hybrid bike is designed more for speed and efficiency. It is not as aggressive as a road bike but offers a more efficient ride than a recreational hybrid bike. Commuters and fitness-oriented riders might prefer this bike and might use it for shorter tri/duathlons and charity rides.
Dual-sport hybrids offer a bike with front suspension along with mountain bike geometry. This bike is a good choice for the rider who likes paved and dirt path riding.
